Kavali Municipality Step Towards Swachh Survekshan 2025-26: Commissioner Inaugurates RRR Centre and Swachha Vignana Kendram
Municipal Commissioner, Kavali Municipality Inaugurates RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centre and Swachha Vignana Kendram
In a major boost to sustainable waste management and civic education, the Kavali Municipal Commissioner officially inaugurated the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centre and the Swachha Vignana Kendram (Swachh Knowledge Hub) at Municipal Office, Railway Station Road, Kavali.
The event marked a significant step toward Kavali’s goal of achieving a top rank in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan 2025-26.
The RRR Centre: Turning Waste into Worth
During the inauguration, the Commissioner visited the newly established RRR Centre and expressed high praise for its organization. The centre serves as a "collection and reuse" point where citizens can donate items instead of discarding them.
Inside the RRR Centre:
Clothing & Footwear: Used clothes were neatly hung, and footwear was displayed on organized racks, ready for those in need.
Spirituality & Decor: God’s photo frames were arranged for reuse, showcasing that nothing of value should go to a landfill.

Eco-Friendly Alternatives: Cloth bags were prominently displayed to encourage citizens to ditch single-use plastics.
Leading by Example: A Community Effort
The spirit of the RRR concept was brought to life when Smt. Kousar (Junior Assistant at ZP School, Thummalapenta Road), a renowned Swachhata Leadership Award winner for her terrace gardening, handed over a collection of used utensils, electronic items, plastic bottles, and carton boxes. The Commissioner personally issued a receipt to Smt. Kousar, emphasizing that every contribution counts.
Swachha Vignana Kendram: A Hub for Learning
The Commissioner also inaugurated the Swachha Vignana Kendram, a unique learning centre dedicated to sanitation and swachhata related activities. He spent time supervising the entire facility,
which features:
The Knowledge Pushcart: In a creative twist of the RRR concept, a repaired and reused pushcart now serves as a mobile library. It displays books on Municipal Acts, SWM Rules, and the Swachh Survekshan 2025-26 Toolkit.
KMC Black Gold Stall: The municipality’s signature organic compost, Black Gold, was on display, showcasing the success of local windrow composting.
Tools of the Trade: An exhibition of sanitation tools was arranged to educate the public on the hard work involved in keeping the city clean.
Commissioner’s Vision: "Target Top Rank"
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner delivered an inspiring speech. He appreciated the tireless efforts of Sanitary Inspector MD. Basheer and the sanitation team. "I request every citizen of Kavali to cooperate with the Municipality. Our goal is not just to clean, but to sustain. By practicing RRR and Source segregation, we can ensure Kavali secures a top rank in Swachh Survekshan 2025-26."
