- Other Community Groups
Through awareness sessions and community-level interactions, people were educated about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and clean surroundings, particularly the role of *proper handwashing in preventing the spread of infections and diarrhea diseases.
Handwashing – A Simple Habit, A Powerful Protection
One of the key messages of the campaign was the importance of washing hands properly with soap and water at critical times, especially before eating or preparing food and after using the toilet.
A simple habit like proper handwashing can play an important role in protecting individuals, families and communities from preventable illnesses.
Clean Surroundings, Healthy Communities
Preventing open dumping, maintaining sanitation, keeping surroundings clean and adopting good personal hygiene practices are all essential components of a healthy community.
Kavali Municipality used the campaign as an opportunity to encourage citizens to take responsibility not only for their own hygiene but also for the cleanliness of their neighborhoods and public spaces.
Reaching Every Community
The strength of “Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao” lies in taking the message beyond government offices and directly into the community.
By engaging students, families, urban slum communities, Anganwadis, Residential Welfare Associations and the general public, Kavali Municipality aimed to create awareness that can translate into everyday behavior.
Awareness Today, Prevention Tomorrow
The campaign reinforces a simple but powerful message:
Cleanliness is not only about keeping our surroundings beautiful — it is about protecting our health.
Through continuous awareness and community participation, Kavali Municipality is working towards a healthier, cleaner and more responsible city.
